BARC Gate 2008

March 28, 29 and 30,   2008

Friday afternoon we got the booths cleaned up.   A vacuum cleaner and some 409 made quick work of a year's collection of grime.   We also got the curtains up in the office booth.   Now we were ready to start the hamfest.

Saturday morning went smoothly.   We were open for business at 6 a.m. but there were no customers.   By 8 a.m. the crowd had arrived.   We were selling tickets from three windows and the lines were short.   This worked well.   By 10 a.m. the rush was over.   For the rest of the day we kept two windows open and had time for everyone to wander through the wonderland of the hamfest.

Sunday was very slow.   We kept two windows open all day and that was plenty.   There was a hamfest emergency on Sunday.   BARC had to pull most of their help from the Timonium Road gate to handle that.   We were able to lend the Timonium Road gate some help.

Our part of the hamfest went very well and without problems.   This point has not gone un-noticed by BARC.

Thanks to K3CAR,   KB3FQL,   N3MKE,   N3VN,   N3XWN,   W3CQB   and   W3TRW for making it happen.
