Getting Started

Radio is fun. If you want to talk to people all over the world then you don't have to be an electronics whiz kid. If you can talk we can get you on the air and even if you can't talk we can still get you on the air using a morse key or a computer keyboard. 

Radio doesn't have to be expensive. You can buy new equipment if you want to but you can find a lot of good second hand equipment if you look around. (Click on the morse key to link to one of the leading radio equipment suppliers)

If you enjoy technology then Amateur radio and computers go hand in hand, there are even amateur radio satellites in orbit and contacts have been made with the International Space Station. 

Are you into the great outdoors? then take your radio with you and still talk to the world. There are even awards like SOTA "Summits On The Air", the higher the summit the more points you get.

Its easy to get started and we'll help you by taking you through a series of courses leading to the 3 types of license.
