Qrp ************ To make the trip across the pond to the USA, Might not seem to difficult, but it is I might well say. Running a hundred watts or more it's just a piece of cake, But when you're running "QRP" the trip is hard to make. It can be rewarding to run 10 watts, no more, Especially when you're 5+9 working shore to shore. There' not much point in using a hundred watts as such, QRP can still be heard, the difference isn't much. Using QRP on eighty, you can work all over "G", If you listen really hard you might, just might hear me. 20 metres is the band where all the big boys go, They're mostly running QRO, I've done it all before. Now I want to start again, running QRP, I'm hoping when I call DX the DX might hear me. I can talk to Dave in Pontypridd running half a watt, When the band is nice and clear I'm happy with my lot. But then you get the problems that make my temper fray, Stations transmit over me, I wish they'd go away. European stations come strait across the top, I wish that they would listen first, maybe they would stop. It wouldn't hurt to listen to check the band is free, And think about those radios hams using QRP. I'm really not that bothered, I'll get through in the end, It's just a pity sometimes they drive me round the bend. So take heed please you lot out there, When you check the band please check with care. You really can have lots of fun running QRP. And if you're really patient you might just might work me.
