Ode to Morse Code II

A few years have gone since I passed my morse,
Do I use the key? Sometimes of course.
But I'm mostly on phone I'm ashamed to say,
My receiving speed has gone astray.
Its lack of practice taking at speed,
More listening time on the air I need.

Sometimes I can manage to take up to 20,
But my key QSO's are not very plenty.
Its my own fault I know and I should persevere,
But morse is a mode that gets me all queer.
I really can't get used to the sound ,
Getting my W's and G's wrong way round.
I also have trouble with "b" and "3"
More listening practice that's for me.

I've worked many countries both near and far,
All from my home and none from the car.
I don't have a mobile H.F. Set, but you never know I may get one yet.
I'd like to work mobile from a very good spot,
And count up the DXCC's that I've got.
I may get the award if I have enough, but I must admit it can be tough.
The American states, in total are 50, to work them all you have to be nifty,
To'ing and fro'ing all over the band, to work any state that may come to hand.

The United States counties is another hard chore,
You work two thousand then find there are more.
Some people have worked them all twice on the trot,
That sort of patience is what I've not got.
But Amateur radio is a wonderful thing,
When I work a new country it makes my heart sing.
You can travel the world without having to roam,
You can meet up with friends without leaving home.
There is no class distinction you're one and the same
"Amateur Radio" is the name of the game.

The Island of Anglesey or in Welsh
"Ynys Mon", is a favourite
Place for Welsh Dx'ers.
Because it is an Island it can be quite sought after for it's  IOTA number.
