Programming Instructions for Early  Cleartone CM7000-CM7500 VHF-UHF mobiles.

 

CLEARTONE   CM7000  FREQ - CTCSS - SCAN CHANNEL PROGRAMMING

SQUARE BUTTON


ROUND BUTTON

The round type button set is only programmable via the PM300 Programmer or by using a custom Cleartone RS232 interface and program.  The Square type button set which is the original older version is programmable via its keypad as per the instructions below.

 

 

KEYPAD HEAD CM7000 - CM7500..CLEARTONE VHF OR UHF 256 CHANNEL TX-RX.
ONLY WORKS WITH A RECTANGULAR RED ON-OFF KEYPAD HEAD
ROUND ON/OFF BUTTON SETS REQUIRE A SOFTWARE PROGRAM.

1. EARTH PIN 7 OF THE MIC PLUG WITH THE SET SWITCHED OFF.

2. SWITCH SET ON HOLDING DOWN THE CH BUTTON AND THE RED RECTANGULAR ON BUTTON  FOR AT LEAST 4 SECONDS.

3. DISPLAY WILL SHOW C000.

4. PRESS CH BUTTON ONCE.

5. DISPLAY WILL SHOW BAND H OR BAND L FOR VHF CM7000.
(UHF CM7500 MAY SHOW OTHER BAND SYMBOLS)

6. IF IT SHOWS BAND H THE SET IS SET FOR PROGRAMMING FREQUENCIES 146 MHz - 172MHz IF IT SHOWS BAND L  THE SET IS SET FOR PROGRAMMING FREQUENCIES 136 MHz - 162 MHz THEREFORE IF THE DISPLAY SHOWS BAND H PRESS THE UP ARROW KEY ONCE ONLY AND THE DISPLAY WILL CHANGE TO L BAND THEN PRESS THE # BUTTON TO LEARN THIS CHANGE INTO THE SET NOW YOU ARE READY TO PROGRAM 2 METRE FREQUENCIES INTO THE SET.

BUT REMEMBER WHEN FINISHING ALL PROGRAMMING IF YOU ORIGINALLY HAD TO CHANGE FROM H BAND TO L BAND TO GO BACK TO C000 ON THE DISPLAY AND PRESS CH BUTTON ONCE TO GET TO L  BAND AND CHANGE THIS BACK TO  H BAND.
IF YOU DON'T  DO THIS THE SET WHEN  SWITCHED BACK ON WILL NOT LOCK UP ON THE SYNTHESIZER AND IT WILL NOT WORK.

7. REMEMBER THAT YOU USE THE # KEY TO LEARN INDIVIDUAL CHANGES INTO THE SET.  
    #  KEY IS THE ENTER KEY
.
AND TO PRESS THE * KEY TO IN ORDER TO ERASE A PREVIOUS FREQUENCY OR ACTION PROGRAMMED WHICH THEN ALLOWS YOU TO PUT IN THE NEW FREQUENCY REQUIRED OR CTCSS TONE REQUIRED ETC.
    * KEY IS THE ERASE KEY OR START PROGRAM KEY

8. PRESS CH BUTTON UNTIL DISPLAY SHOWS C000

9. PRESS UP ARROW KEY ONCE
DISPLAY SHOWS C001

10. THIS  IS CHANNEL 1.

11. PRESS CH BUTTON ONCE.

12. THE DISPLAY WILL SHOW THE 8 DIGIT FREQUENCY WHICH IS THE RX FREQUENCY THAT CHANNEL 1 IS PROGRAMMED ON.

13. IF THIS DISPLAY SHOWS  - - - - - - - - 8 DASHES THEN  NO RX FREQUENCY IS PROGRAMMED IN CHANNEL NO 1.

14. TO PROGRAM A RX FREQUENCY  FIRST  PRESS * BUTTON THEN ENTER 8 DIGITS OF REQUIRED NEW RX FREQUENCY  E.G. 14577500

15. TO LEARN THIS INTO THE SET THEN PRESS  # BUTTON.

16. DISPLAY THEN CHANGES TO  TX FREQUENCY OF CHANNEL NO 1
(IF YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY PROGRAMMED THE RX CHANNEL AS ABOVE??)

17. THIS WILL AGAIN SHOW 8 DIGITS OF TX FREQUENCY OR 8 DASHES - - - - - - - -

18. PRESS * KEY WHICH ERASES PREVIOUS FREQUENCY OR SETS THE SET TO RECEIVE A NEW FREQUENCY.

19. ENTER 8 DIGIT NEW  FREQUENCY FOR CHANNEL 1 TX E.G. 14507500

20. PRESS # TO ENTER THIS INTO THE SET.

21. PRESS CH BUTTON .    
NOTE WELL.
IF THE ABOVE PROGRAMMING HAS BEEN ENTERED CORRECTLY THE DISPLAY WILL NOW CHANGE.
IF THE ABOVE PROGRAMMING IS INCORRECT OR THE # OR * BUTTON HAVE NOT BEEN PRESSED IN THE RIGHT SEQUENCE THEN THE DISPLAY WILL NOT CHANGE TO THE NEXT PARAMETER..

 

CTCSS PROGRAMMING PER CHANNEL TONES.

22. THE DISPLAY WILL NOW DISPLAY TCS OFF OR TCS 67.  THIS IS THE RX ONLY CTCSS TONE.
IF SHOWING OFF NO TONE IS  PROGRAMMED ON CHANNEL NO 1 RX AND OPEN RECEIVER ON THIS CHANNEL.

23. TO PROGRAM A TONE ON RX CHANNEL 1, PRESS * BUTTON TO ERASE PREVIOUS TONE.

24. PRESS UP ARROW AND IT WILL CYCLE THROUGH ALL 38 CTCSS TONES OR OFF

25. CHOOSE A TONE IF REQUIRED  E.G. 118.2
THEN PRESS  # BUTTON TO LEARN THIS INTO THE SET OR CHOOSE OFF IF NOT REQUIRED.

26. NOW THE DISPLAY WILL SHOW TCS OFF OR ANOTHER TONE AGAIN
THIS IS THE TX TONE FOR CHANNEL NO 1.

27. TO CHANGE THIS REPEAT INSTRUCTIONS NO 23 TO 25 ABOVE AS FOR THE RX TONE.

28. HAVING PRESSED # BUTTON THE TONES WILL BE LEARNT INTO THE SET FOR CHANNEL 1 ONLY.

29. PRESS  CH BUTTON  SLOWLY AND YOU WILL COME TO  SCAN OFF OR SCAN ON IN THE DISPLAY.
IF YOU WISH TO PUT THIS CHANNEL AND OTHERS THAT YOU MAY PROGRAM LATER INTO THE  SCAN CHANNEL LIST THEN TO MAKE THE CHANNEL YOU ARE PROGRAMMING GO ONTO THE LIST
PRESS THE UP ARROW UNTIL THE DISPLAY SHOWS SCAN ON
IF THIS CHANNEL IS NOT REQUIRED TO BE IN THE SCANNING LIST PRESS THE UP ARROW UNTIL THE DISPLAY SHOWS SCAN OFF

30. THEN PRESS # BUTTON.
NOW PRESS CH BUTTON UNTIL YOU RETURN DISPLAY TO C001
YOU HAVE NOW SUCCESSFULLY PROGRAMMED CHANNEL NO 1. 
IF YOU WISH TO PROGRAM ANY OTHER CHANNELS INTO THE SET FROM C002 TO C256 ALL YOU HAVE TO DO NOW IS PRESS UP ARROW BUTTON UNTIL YOU REACH THE CHANNEL NO YOU REQUIRE AND REPEAT ALL ACTIONS FROM ABOVE PER CHANNEL REQUIRED FROM PARAGRAPH 9 TO PARAGRAPH 30.

BUT REMEMBER WHEN FINISHING ALL PROGRAMMING IF YOU ORIGINALLY HAD TO CHANGE FROM H BAND TO L BAND TO GO BACK TO C000 ON THE DISPLAY AND PRESS CH BUTTON ONCE TO GET TO L  BAND AND CHANGE THIS BACK TO  H BAND.  IF YOU DON'T  DO THIS THE SET WHEN  SWITCHED BACK ON WILL NOT LOCK UP ON THE SYNTHESIZER AND IT WILL NOT WORK.
AND DON'T FORGET TO REMOVE PIN 7 TO EARTH SHORT FROM THE MIC PLUG SWITCH OFF THE SET THEN WAIT 5 SECONDS AND SWITCH THE SET BACK ON.

IT SHOULD NOW WORK ON 2 METRES
