Dave came with a 'ready made history' in radio - a 'relic in his own time'!
A repeater is 'only as good as its engineer'. Dave has brought his years of experience as repeater engineer from other sites to 'YC'. In fact he 'gave' GB3YC its original repeater unit for free and for as long as was needed.
The original 'Storno' was Dave's and saw service to 'YC' until 1998. He continued as 'volunteer engineer'...."I don't want to be on a committee and have to vote and things like that. If it goes wrong 'tell me' and it will be fixed".
We still have Dave, who works professionally with services having multiple repeater hill-top sites, to keep things right...and letting us know, (in his own inimitable way)...when things are not!
