Formed in 1965 after Dennis G4OO advertised for any interested persons to meet.1969 saw the first Tulip time Rally take place at Surfleet held there for several years before moving to 2 local schools then moving on to its present location at Springfield’s Exhibition Hall. Affiliated to the Radio Society of Great Britain in 1972 the club operates under the call signs of G4DSP & G1DSP. The club has a active membership with varying interests,amateur television,HF operation,contests home-brew construction,SSTV,computers,packet,repeaters,microwave, to list a few. The club meets every Friday evening at it’s clubroom located at the old Fire Station in Spalding and welcomes new members,the club provides training classes to those who wish to gain a licence to transmit on the amateur bands this being held on a Wednesday evening.A constructors evening for beginners or improvers is now being held on a Thursday evening. The club operating station is available to members to use on VHF,UHF and the HF bands,SSTV is also available. |
