G8KSH (& M3KSH) - BPSK31 on
20m is where I spend most of my time on air. Since the CW
requirement for HF was dropped in July 2003, I've reverted to my old
call. G8KSH was originally issued to my dad, Roy in the
mid-1970's. By the time I sat the RAE in 1992, he had already
become G4UWQ so I could adopt the call - and equipment

Besides
the JOTA stations, South Derbys & Ashby Woulds ARG operate regularly
from the National Forest Centre in Rosliston, South Derbyshire. There is also a bird of prey centre
on site which is great as I love owls. To see a couple of pictures

They
were one of the first groups to put on a special event station for
National Science Week and have now done so every year since the scheme
was launched. I usually operate the 2m station, but this year we
demonstrated BPSK31 for the first time. These events give us the
opportunity to show amateur radio to the public and this year we were
joined by the RSGB's mobile GB4FUN station. It also gives us chance to
operate equipment under the special event call;

I
operated as M3KSH from 27 March 2003 until 25 July 2003. In that time I
managed 750 QSOs with 78 DXCC (including JA, HL, FR, ZD7, VK, A4, YB
& EM1). I attained the eQSL.cc eDX award (No. 100649) and IARU WAC
(RTTY). All on 10W with simple antennas.
G8KSH
has been active on the HF bands since 26 July 2003. In that time I've
worked over 500 stations in 88 countries. The best DX to date is YI, VU
& TZ. IARU WAC (RTTY) application is being processed with the next aim being the DXCC award.

(Running abt 30W) Pentium III 500MHz PC with SoundBlaster soundcard. Software = MixW. Antenna farm currently
contains a mix of homebrew delta loops and dipoles to cover all bands.
