APRS

Introduction

I am currently working on an APRS simulator that is intended to show what happens on the unconnected network with various configurations of stations and their Digis.

Each of the stations on the map has a full set of APRS properties that can be altered, i.e. Digi settings, station power and range settings.

Two versions of the software are planned. The first will be the full version, this will require registration, that will allow scenarios to be created and saved. The second version, which will be free, will play scenarios.

Features

UIView style interface

The interface has been designed to emulate UIView32.

Scenario Setup Wizard

This wizard will ease the creation of a scenario. A scenario is a series of stations that you can create to demonstrate features of the APRS network.

Support for UIView

Snapshots and maps can be imported from UIView.

One Shot Simulation

In this mode you can set one station to send a beacon and watch it move around the network.

Full Simulation

In this mode each station transmits and you can watch the effects on the network. You can vary the speed of the simulation.

When will it be available

The project is due for completion Mid 2001 - Watch this space.

Download demo here (v1.0.0.1 300k) This file is password protected and only intended for beta testers at present. This is NOT a full install and will only run on a machine with UITools installed.
