Driving

I really enjoy driving and look forward to trips in season to National Trust and similar destinations. I can cover quite large distances by planning routes in advance using Autoroute Express. As an example on a days outing from Swindon it has been possible to visit Cotehele in Cornwall, Oxburgh Hall in Norfolk, Batemans in East Sussex and Powis Castle in Wales. When I get a film scanner I'll put up some pictures of places I visit. 1999 trips so far have been to Greys Court near Henley-On-Thames in Oxfordshire and Nymans Gardens in West Sussex.

I have passed the Advanced Driving Test and am a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists. The Swindon Group helped me pass the test through "observed runs" which enabled me to correct the bad habits I had accumulated since passing the standard driving test in 1981.

I would recommend that anyone who enjoys driving joins their local IAM group. Details of all the local groups can be obtained from the IAM Website.
