Ooor second yare runnin' a' Sutton Windmill woos a second gri' success. Once agin ooor hosts, Chris and Pam, made us more than welcome. Thur Museum Buildin' and Engine House contain a ooj display f Woodworkin', Plumbin', Cooper's, Tin and Blacksmith's tools; oover 100 differen' animal Traps and Taxidermy items; a wartime Secton with leaflets, cards and recipes; Book Bindin' area; Horse Harness and much much more. |

Thur Even'
This yare we had a much bigger team runnin' tree separate stations. thur tree club radios were all used: thur FT736R dedicated to VHF/UHF voice, thur FT1000MP setup for HF voice and morse (thanks to M0DXR), and thur IC746 linked to Barry's laptop for UI-View and SSTV on HF.

F cooorse tha' woon all hard work! We pitched ooor tents in thur newlie established field adjacen' to thur mill and had full access to thur museum and windmill. This year's bravery awards goo to Phil, Barry and Alan who spen' a ghostlie noight tryin' to sleep in thur windmill. Although thur wather woos a little disappointin' (and thur good reports from thur res' f England frustratin') thur rairn held orff and some f us found toime to explore thur local countryside.

Thur operatin' stations were se' up on thur second and third floors f thur ten storey buildin' with feeder cables danglin' ou' f thur windows. thur VHF vertical woos secoored from a platform at thur rare f thur cap, around 80 fi'en above thur ground. Ooor two full size G5RVs were strung ou' a' roight angles, thur centre f each bairn lifted usin' ropes from thur windmill to provide an inverted V configooration. |
