Amateur Radio
50 MHz Contest

Mark Hall Barn was opened up on Sunday 16th April, 2000 for the RSGB 6 metre contest. We operated two computer logs plus one on paper and cycled through a team of five operators. Occasional dial-in to the Internet told us about the exotic DX that didn't quite reach England. We ran 100 Watts USB from an ICOM 706 Mk II into a five element Yagi at approximately 65 metres above sea level. This year saw considerably better results with over eighty contacts made in the four hour time slot.
