NEW DAY

When the western sky holds the setting sun

The night has only just begun

I thank my god’s for another day

As the daylight slowly slips away

I look to the dark sky, lit only by the moon

The stars twinkle brightly, but disappear too soon

The quiet of night, it soothes the soul

It helps me find my next day’s goal

In peace of night I sleep and dream

Each new night a different theme

Hopes and fears, forgotten past

Some I hope will be the last

As night it slowly ebbs away

It heralds yet another day

The dawn it breaks and morning comes

With dewy grass new day becomes

A new sun rises in the east

Heat and light are now released

Now dark and dreams have gone away

Let’s celebrate this brand new day
