MARIA
Maria my love
where are you now?
Your eyes sparkled
brightly when we made our vow
We promised each
other our love to the end
So many memories,
how can my heart mend?
Our time together
was such fun
Your golden hair
reflected the sun
Holding hands we
ran through a field of corn
We held each other
tightly until the next dawn
Our week was like
a lifetime, I’ll never forget
If the rest of my
life was wasted; this week I can’t regret
Your kisses made
me tingle. Your touch like a fire
Never before had I
known such desire
We talked through
the night and laughed till we cried
Having you sat
beside me I was filled up with pride
I gave you a
single red rose every night
Each time your
face was a beautiful sight
We lay on the
beach and looked at the sky
The clouds making
patterns, while we watched the birds fly
We frolicked in
the sea, like a couple of kids
We forgot all the
things that adulthood forbids
Oh Maria my love,
how could it all end?
Just one drunken
driver who missed the bend
One minute you
were beside me and next you were gone
I fought to keep
you breathing and I thought I had won
I held you in my
arms and told you of my love
But by then I was
too late and you’d had the call from up above
Maria love, our
time was short
God was cruel to
make our love abort
I only hope
you’re waiting still
As no one else,
your place can fill
I just hope that I
can join you there
And have the
chance to prove I care
I know
you’ll be an angel. The
prettiest one, I’m sure
With wings to
match your golden hair and like an eagle, soar
I remember all the
good times and for them, I’m glad
But still I cry
myself to sleep, because I am so sad
