 Other Modes?

One thing about setting up Your Amateur shack for SSTV is that the same set

up can as a rule be easily adapted to allow the usage of several other interesting modes

The new modes You can now enjoy apart from SSTV are listed below :-

PSK31 a VERY efficient low power mode software usually freeware ( see links pages)

RTTY Radio Teletype anice mode often some good DX found on this mode on the higher frequency Bands sometimes very busy indeed !!

Hellschreiber ..... Yes its the secret mode invented by Dr Hell and used in the last war by Germany printing messages on paper ribbon an unusual mode that now its computerised works very well Its different too !!

MFSK16 another oddity similar to RTTY but uses multiple tones not simply the two RTTY makes do with

A look on the link pages will soon get you working in any or all of these modes It does make life more interesting and you can meet some interesting folk also PSK31 now seems the most popular mode and most stations run only about 20 - 30 watts its narrow bandwidth so you can use narrow (even CW filters for this one ! )

Why not have a try ? You may find a whole new interest in the hobby here !
