CIRCUIT THREE
A MUCH SIMPLER CIRCUIT , BUT A HIGH VALUE RELAY COIL WILL BE REQUIRED AS YOU ARE DRAWING ALL OF ITS CURRENT FROM THE DTR PIN OF THE COMPUTER. I BUILT THIS CIRCUIT USING A RELAY ENCAPSULATED IN A 14 DIL PACKAGE DIRECTLY INTO THE 25 PIN PLUG CONNECTED TO MY COMPUTER SERIAL PORT. MAPLINS DO A RELAY WITH A 500 OHM COIL & 1 POLE CONTACT, WITH A COIL PULL IN AT 3.7 - 7.5 VOLTS, WHICH SHOULD BE OK.
