Scafell Pike

The Walks > Wainwrights

This routes starts from Seathewaite Farm and when I arrived at 08:00 hrs there were only two other cars parked up but this was on a Tuesday in the middle of October with stong winds, gusting to 60mph and rain forcast. From Seathwaite Farm to Stockley Bridge up to Sty Head then up to Lingmel Col via the corridor route from Lingmel Col going right upto Lingmel itself retracing your steps back to Lingmel Col then doing the assent to Scafell pike. The desent was down via Broad Crag Col and Ill Crag Col and then Esk Hause then from Esk Hause down by Ruddy Gill then Grains Gill to Stockley Bridge and finally Seathwaite Farm car park.

Scafell Pike 978 metres - 3210 feet

The route 10.5 miles via Lingmel.

Time taken 6.5 hours.



Weather: Dry 8C at the start but very windy on the top.
