500 Challenge

Snowdon500

The Snowdon500 Challenge first started in 2008 when the event organisers managed to get 450 people to walk up and down Snowdon in the one day to raise money for Prostate Cancer research.

The 2009 event managed the full 500 and we were one of the first teams to go being in group five, we started the asent at 08:00 hours.

The 2009 event took place on Saturday 16th May, weather was wet and very windy. But at least there was some gaps in the rain. Our small team" the telent trio" comprised of Sue Platt, Steve Haslam and myself.

We completed the walk in four and three quarter hours and our very small team managed to raise a total of £1,400.00 for this very worthy charity.

Looking back at the lakes, a lucky break in the weather no rain or cloud.

Well pleased or what!

Although this challenge is not a race we made the summit in two hours and were back down in Llanberis one and three quarter hours later.
