Kosovo SW Receiver Setup
This picture and text extract is taken from the 'Westmoreland Gazette' paper.
....Furness radio hams are helping the refugees to keep in touch with latest developments in Kosova.
They answered the call for help by installing radio equipment and an aerial in the Ulverston refugee center, enabling the Kosovars to pick up broadcasts back at home. The equipment was loaned by Furness Amateur Radio Society member Dave Wilkinson, of Dalton.
Former society secretary Basil Bull, 82, managed to track down short-wave radio frequencies by enlisting the help of the Radio Society for Great Britain.
As a direct result of the Ulverston initiative, the refugee authorities have made details of the wavelengths available to refugee centers across Europe.
