Furness Amateur Radio Society (FARS), based in south-west Cumbria is a club for people interested in radio communications. |

It’s members include licensed amateurs, short wave listeners and interested people of all ages with the aim of furthering their knowledge of communications. |
|||||||||||||||
|
Activities include construction projects, field activities, talks and lectures and running special event stations for groups and organisations such as scouts, heritage, tourism and other community projects. |
|||||||||||||||
|
The Society also provides tuition leading to the foundation, intermediate and advanced Radio Amateurs Examinations. |
|||||||||||||||
|
There are regular social and technical “eyeball” meetings as well as “on-air” nets on both VHF & HF. |
|||||||||||||||
|
New members are always made welcome. |
