TRAINING AND EXAMINATIONS

The TADARC has taken on the role of training amateur radio to the three RSGB levels - Foundation Course, Intermediate Course and Advanced course. So far, twenty-nine Foundation, eleven Intermediate and five Advanced students have been trained to Exam level since training commenced in 2006. The Taunton Club is now a recognised and accredited venue of training and also as a Test Centre. After the Foundation and Intermediate Exams, the papers are marked immediately and the students are told the result, there and then. The Advanced Exam papers are marked at RSGB Headquarters. Being an acredited Examination Centre, TADARC also accepts candidates who wish to take exams but have received their training elsewhere. The cost of the Exams for each candidate are: Foundation - £22.50. Intermediate - £27.50. Advanced - £32.50. These fees are set by - and paid to - the RSGB.

PLANNED TRAINING

The courses are planned on a follow-up basis so that students have an opportunity to make practical use of their current Licence before advancing to the next course. FOUNDATION Course: Commences 7 December 2011. INTERMEDIATE Course: Usually commences in May. ADVANCED Course: Usually commences in September. The Club can accommodate ‘Examination only’ candidates or specific groups of candidates. The Club Course Fee (2010 costs) is £15.00 per person. This is in addition to the RSGB Examination fee plus the Course literature (depending on the Course). All enquiries and applications to join the courses please contact:
