May 2018 UHF Contest

Super weather and good North Sea tropo, but it didn't extend far inland, so NE not so good from here. AS working fine though, but timing the QSOs to coincide with good planes is as tricky as ever.

A change of strategy this year, rather than run 70cm as a filler on Sunday I concentrated on the band on Saturday until about 1845z. So scores on the higher bands suffered. I was pleased to work 9 stations in 50 minutes on 3cms later on Saturday. Sunday was mainly focused on 23/13/9cm, with 6cm the poor relation this time. Once again DL0GTH features in the best DX list on several bands.

I still haven't fixed the 3cm RX - maybe by October! With a bit of luck 24GHz will be operational by then too.
