May 2015 UHF Contest

I was looking forward to operating for the full weekend, but my sister-in-law decided to have a big family reunion on the Saturday, so operation was on Sunday only this year.

Conditions on the lower bands were nothing special, with aircraft scatter providing all the DX. I spent about an hour on 432MHz initially, almost exclusively operating S&P. After breakfast I concentrated on the higher bands. Many stations wanted to try multiband skeds and I never could keep up with all the requests on KST.

It was nice to work DL0GTH on 4 bands from 70-9cm, all by aircraft. OK2A provided the best DX on 1.3GHz, but for a change there was less focus on this band than usual, with more time spent on the higher bands.

There was some degree of rain scatter enhancement to the East after the main rainband had passed through here, and this gave good results to PA and DL stations on the higher bands.
