The variable capacitor is a two gang 75 + 75 pf arranged as a split stator. The rotor must be isolated from earth. You could use a single gang capacitor but oscillation will be difficult above about 50Mhz.
Construct the tuning head seperate from the meter unit and connect via a multi cable.
