Update - 20 June 2003
Route being refined to even out the days a little (and remove some unnecessary ascent by using high-level pitches). Have decided to take bivvy tent instead of more comfy (and heavier) one. Am ditching Thermarest in favour of old Karrimat to further reduce weight. Now thinking about food to take along.
G3CWI on a reconnaissance trip in South Wales earlier this year.
This trip has been on my mind for a long while (actually around 20 years!). At long last SOTA has given me the ideal excuse to do it.
This is the approximate route of my 2003 SOTA trip. It is planned to start on 11 August and finish on 17th August. The total distance is about 90 miles with around 24,000 feet of ascent. I will be backpacking and camping in the wilds. I may add a few days later to even the ascent/mileages out a bit!
