Macclesfield has quite a number of radio amateurs. Unfortunately, most seem to be inactive and the local radio club is poorly attended (indeed as of December 2001 it may have disappeared altogether!). I would like to see things improve.

My idea is to arrange lectures on various radio related subjects, perhaps quarterly, with good speakers who know their subject. The objective would be to support local clubs rather than to compete with them. I have the support of another local amateur in this enterprise.
