Someone has asked me what gear I took camping on this trip. Here are the main items (non-ham radio):

Stove 18 years Trangia with Trangia kettle (excellent kit but no good below -15 degrees C or above 10,000 feet though IMHO)
Socks new Bridgedale Trekker (new for this trip - recommended)
Torch new Petzl micro (new for this trip - replaced my old Petzl headtorch)
Mat new Thermarest Ultralight (new for this trip - very comfortable too!)
WaterproofJacket 6 years Goretex by Berghaus
Boots 5 years High-tec Waterpoof Mauna Kea with Superfeet insoles (very expensive indeed!)
Rucksack 18 years Karrimor Jaguar S85 (85 litres capacity)
Food new Instant pototoes, small tins of fish, porridge, rasins, dried bananas, dates, tea, sachets of hot chocolate
Other clothes various Shirt - Rohan short sleeved, Trousers - Rohan convertible Bags, underpants M&S, Fleece jacket M&S, Fleece hat M&S, waterproof trousers,  1 pair spare socks, gloves
Other things various Sony SFR-S83 radio, Micropur water tablets, matches, meths (for stove), toilet paper, book, map, compass, spoon, Swiss Army knife, whistle, First aid/blister kit, DEET insect repellant, mosquito coils, 2 x 1 litre PET bottles, lip salve, small square of synthetic scouring pad, toothbrush and small towel.
