Our particular passion is the Trophy series of VHF to microwave contests that the RSGB run throughout the year. These are mostly 24 hour weekend events for which we go portable to hill sites in Lincolnshire. We use JO03ad, and JO03ce a great deal. 1999/2001/2002/2003/2004 Contest Calendar. There is now a "claimed scores" facility at this page also so that pre-adjudication positions can be estimated.

Five Bells Contest group is powered exclusively by

Our portable operation often sees us towing a converted caravan up a muddy track, and then erecting some unfeasibly large arrays on mobile towers. This inevitably coincides with the worst of British weather!! Clicking on the pictures will bring up a larger image, of approximately 100kb.

Some contest results are available at Blacksheep Contest group site.

Once a year I support Shefford and District ARS with their entry into VHF Field day, normally this is either on 2m or 70cms, in the low power section. A more relaxing way to contest!
