Amateur Radio,,we're still learning!!!!!

My grid locator is IO83JJ

WAB Square is SJ28, West Kirby

My station runs on all HF bands, on all modes, 4Mtrs, 2Mtrs and 70cms

For Hf, I use a Kenwood TS-870SE, antenna is a Hustler 6-BTV trap vertical, and a W3DZZ Dipole for 80 & 40Mtrs.

On 4mtrs, I use an Ascom SE550 ex-PMR set and a 1/2 wave dipole.

The 2mtr band is covered on a Dymar ex-PMR radio running through a diplexer to a Diamond X-50.

And, last of all 70cms is running 9600bd packet radio via a Motorola MC-80 ex-PMR radio, diplexed to the Diamond X-50 antenna also.

Logging and Station Management

Over the years I have used a few logging programs, from Turbolog V.2 & 3 ( I believe there is a V.4 coming out, and has been for the past 2 years that I know of!!!!), to the latest logging program I am using, Winlog32 by G0CUZ.

For contest logging, I use RCKrtty by DL4RCK, Walter Dalmier. This is specially written for RTTY,CW, Digimode contests. On SSB contests I use the SuperDuper logging suite by EI5DI, as it scores for you  aswell. Both of these programs log outputs can be converted via  ADIF into my General log (Winlog32) to keep things up-to-date.

For new Digimodes, I use MixW2, it has a logging program built in, and uses the soundcard for all the encoding and decoding of the tones.

Logger by Bob Furzer 9K2ZZ is a very good program (and free!!). For more details see the Links page, as the programs are evolving all the time

Packet Radio

At the moment, I have Winpack V.6.80 running, and also the excellent UI-View32, APRS program
