Station is an IC7400 with a Cobwebb aerial (horizontaly polarised 5 element concentric loop) for the HF bands (20 - 10m). Also have a co-linear up for 2 and 6m but VHF is not great from my QTH. When the weather is good I enjoy hiking up hills with my FT290 and a 7 ele yagi and 20m mast for a spot of backpacking activity. QSL via the bureau, eqsl (www.eqsl.cc) or direct... always love to get a QSL, especially from SWL. Location is a village called Thatcham just outside of Newbury which is ~70km directly west of London.
[December 02] Have just built an Elecraft K1 for portable HF work and am using it with a homebrew 80m loop aerial. Hope to work you QRP CW...73's de Michael
[March 03] Have set up a trapped vertical sloper aerial for 160m, 80m, 40m, 30m, 17m and 12m. Very difficult to tune accurately on all bands but it is at least operational on 160m and 80m. |
