Crowborough Amateur Radio Society
We are a small, go-ahead club located in Crowborough, East Sussex, England, on the edge of Ashdown Forest (Winnie the Pooh country!), about 55km south of London. Fondly, the name is usually shortened to CARS. We have about 50 members with many, varied interests, both in and out of radio. CARS boasts a very wide age range; we have both the young at heart and the young in body. We also have male and female members, both licensed and SWLs.
The club also has a logo, which is called Jarvis the Crow, a rather jolly old bird!. He can be seen on our newsletter called Crowstalk. Some of you may have heard of this publication before, as we were the winners of the Practical Wireless (a UK national radio magazine) Spotlight club newsletter competition in 1998 and 1999.
The club meets every fourth Thursday in the month at "The Plough and Horses", Walshes Road, Jarvis Brook, Crowborough at 2000hrs local time. If you are ever in the area, feel free to come and visit us!
Also, we meet occasionally at Crest Farm, on Ashdown Forest, where our club caravan is sited.
If you would like further details on how to join our merry band, just click on Jarvis.
