Annual Surplus Equipment Sale 2000
Well another year, another Surplus Equipment Sale.
Adrian was again
our auctioneer, a man who could probably sell ice to the Eskimos, and a fine job he made
of it, whisking through the hundreds of items up for grabs.
Many bargains were had, one member even bought a whole computer for 10p it was not a super duper fast machine but good enough to use for packet.
Who said we are in an expensive hobby?
There were
components, boxes, telephones, radios, computers, modems, Hi-Fi equipment, speakers even a
scanner that went for an extortionate price of 50p.
You could have bought just about anything, and people did.
We had people from far and wide Essex, Norfolk, Uckfield, Oxted, Eastbourne, and Sudan (Africa), to name but a few places.
They literally came in trains, planes and automobiles!!!!!!.
All went away with something!
Not all knew quite what, but they had something.
Elessaid from Sudan went home with a
mobile telephone, he has no excuse not to stay in touch now!!!! hi !!!!!
