Ham radio has changed beyond all recognition over the years   - At one time Ham radio was Morse code with home made transmitters and ex military receivers and possibly a  home made A.M transmitter for 160 metres. Then the early Yaesu transceivers came along and things changed a lot. Now no ham radio shack is complete without a computer which lends it's way to digital modes and listening to utility stations. With the advent of the cheap Raspberry pi there is yet  another exciting avenue that we can explore
