FARA Night Out

May 1

and more...

President's Message

It has been a busy month.  As spring begins, it's time to start thinking about Field Day.  We had a an enthusiastic turnout at our first meeting, and it looks like FARA will be mounting a competitive Field Day effort, IF we get enough support.  The number of towers will be scaled back by one or two.  We will be doing without the National Guard tents, so we will have to come up with our own shelters.  Meetings are every other Wednesday, at the shack.  The next meeting is March 31st.
Ed, W1NXC, has done a fantastic job, registering students for License in a Weekend.  As usually happens, no one signs up until the week before the class.  I think we are close to 10 students now.  I'm glad to see a number of young people, which bodes well for the future of our hobby.
Bev noticed that the beam at the shack needs its regular spring tightening, so I will be leading a work party up to the roof on April 3rd, weather permitting.  This time, we're gonna fix it so it stays fixed!
Thank you all for getting your dues paid.  We're grateful for the support.  We can also use some help running the club, so if you'd like to take a more active part in making FARA work, please talk to one of the officers.  We have several jobs that need someone to make sure they get done.
73,

Peter, KA1AXY
