President's Message

I hope this finds everyone healthy and ready for spring.  We have had a few good days that have led me to believe spring will be here.
The club continues to improve.  Thanks to Paul, N1DGT, and Anne, N1ECI, the club now has it's QST reading and printing station.  They were kind enough to donate a 386 computer and laser printer.  We have one CD with the QST's from the late 80's.  This will be available for us to look up articles and then make copies on the printer.  Thank you, Paul and Anne. Thanks, also, to Phil, N1MQG, for his hard work on the library.  We now have QST's dating back as far as the 40's with a few even older.  Stop down one day and take a look at the collection.  Thanks, Phil.
We have had another successful Flea Market and the credit goes to all the people that worked on Sunday.  We had a full crew from beginning to end. Thank you to all that volunteered and worked, with special thanks to Martin, AA1ON, for chairing the event and to Dick, K1KTK, for running the huge VE session.  To celebrate our good time I will treat everyone to pizza on May 1st, right after the meeting.  This will be our program for this month.  Everyone is welcome, even if you were with us in spirit only on Flea Market day.
Don't forget the MASS QSO Party!  The party is scheduled the first weekend in May (3rd and 4th) and will be a lot of fun.  We are going to activate the club station this year, after being quiet for two years.  We will be running from 2 p.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday and from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday (all times are local) and will need operators of all levels to help us out.  We will also be logging with CT and it will be good practice for Field Day.  Hope to see you there!!
Our next big event is Field Day, June 28 and 29, 1997.  We will again be at Gerard Turkey Farm in Framingham, a great location.  After finishing 4th in 3A last year we would like to again make a serious effort but will not sacrifice having a good time to win.  There is a place for everyone at Field Day and I invite you to join us for a great weekend.  Dave, K1HT, and Martin, AA1ON, are "bossing" us again and they have been making plans all winter.  There are meetings scheduled every other week at the shack to prepare.  Please, join the fun and let us know what you would find fun at Field Day.
I would like to express sympathy to the family and friends of Bob Press, who recently passed away in a plane crash.  Bob was a former president of FARA.  I know people will miss him.
Enjoy the spring and I will see you all soon.

Dues Still Due!

Second reminder! Each year the club dues come due on January 1st. It's now May and there's still a lot of you who have not sent in your dues.  If you still owe dues please send them directly to the club.  This is the last reminder - anyone not caught up on dues will be dropped from the rolls this month.

Board Meeting Changing Time

Second notice!  This month FARA board meetings will be moving back to be the second Monday before the club meeting rather then the third Monday.

This Month's Meeting

Marjie, KA1HIA

It's that time again.  Mario and Guido (I8PZA and I8MOR) will again give us their bi-annual update on DX doings from the isle of Pepperoni!  Come and enjoy them.  They've never failed to give a feast of an evening!
