Back of the W1FY Node Freezer

Back of the W1FY Node Freezer

This photo shows the back of the W1FY node freezer.

The (harmless) rust from years of storage is apparent at the bottom.

The freezer is mounted on a plywood base with casters. Above the plywood is the space formerly occupied by the compressor. (Note: the compressor and freon were both disposed of legally, in an environmentally-safe manner.) This space is now the air intake; two mouse-and-bug-screened 4-inch openings in the base pull air in from the bottom.

Moving up from the base, you can see the power cord penetration.

Nearing the top, you can see the two screened exit vents, each equipped with a muffin fan.
