EPCRACES CALLUP PROCEDURE
Activation of EPCRACES operations will normally be done by the RACES Officer
(RO), Deputy RACES Officer (DRO) or Operations Officer (OO) at the direction of
the El Paso County (EPC) Office of Emergency Management (OEM) or a designate of
the EPC Sheriff's Department. If possible, the RO will always be notified first.
Callup Procedure
1. The RO or DRO will call the OO or assistants to initiate the callup.
The callup roster contains callup groups. The individual listed at the top of
each group will receive a call from the RO, DRO, OO or assistant.
2. The individual listed at the top of group will call the next person in that
group.
3. Each individual in that group will call the next person in that group. This
process will continue until all individuals have been called. If you directly
contact the next person in your group AND they can continue on down to the next
person, you are done. If you get no answer, call the next person in your group.
If you get an answering machine or a family member, leave a message and call the
next person in your group.
4. The last person contacted in your group will call the OO to inform them the
entire group has been called.
IMPORTANT: If you fail to contact someone below you on the list,
the callup process will stop. KEEP THE PROCESS GOING by
calling the next person or by calling the person that called you if you cannot
continue the process. Please remember that Nets are part of our training, and by
doing a roster, everyone is afforded the opportunity to participate and keep up
on the training. If you have been scheduled for the HF Net and do not have the
equipment or the appropriate license, coordinate with those that do and get in
some HF experience.
If you are unable to conduct your assigned Net, try to get someone to take your
place or switch with someone. If you are unsuccessful, please contact the Net
Coordinator or the RACES Officer.
