MINUTES OF THE E.K.A.R.C. – Dec. 8th, 2012

 

Held at CRJ’s.  Members present 8.  Chair: VE7CRJ

MINUTES: 

MOTION: The minutes of the last meeting be adopted as read: Moved VE7CRX, Seconded VE7 NEK.  CARRIED

 

CORRESPONDENCE: None.

 

BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES:

 

Ø      The Jubilee repeater had a problem which was solved, and is now working fine.

Ø      The letters to the truckers who were overusing the repeater went out, problem solved.

Ø      A letter or email proposed to be sent to all amateurs in the East Kootenays to attempt to determine what areas in Amateur radio they are interested in, was discussed.  A meeting of interested club members will be held in early January to discuss this further.

Ø      The new course is on track with 10 potential participants identified.  The new manuals are being perused by VE7NEK and VE7SKT for analysis.

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Ø      Nelson hasn’t done anything with the Pilot Point or Slocan Ridge repeaters.  Does the club want to take over maintenance of the Pilot Point repeater?

Ø      All repeaters are working well.

Ø      A discussion was held on ways to attract new members, points discussed were holding a meeting on APRS, IRLP or other areas of potential interest and holding a meeting in Yahk.
