WILLIAM R. LAUDERBAUGH
KE3BZ

1937 - 2005

Bill Lauderbaugh, KE3BZ, passed away at the age of 67 on Thursday, February 10, 2005 at his home in Canton, Oklahoma after fighting cancer for several years.  He was a veteran of both the Army and the Navy.  He is survived by his wife, Deanna, two sons and four daughters in the New Castle area, stepchildren, a brother and four sisters, 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.

Bill is formerly of the Ellwood City area and was one of the founders of the Ellwood City Amateur Radio Assoc., Inc.  It was his dream and vision for Ellwood City to have a radio club to serve the community, and in August of 1997 it became a reality.  Bill served as the club's first President and worked tirelessly to bring others into the club and into the hobby.  In 2000, Bill remarried and moved to Canton, Oklahoma, where he continued to be active in amateur radio.  He taught many of the early club members and helped us get our first license.  We in the ECARA owe Bill a deep debt of gratitude for the work he began here in Ellwood City.

Bill has donated his body to the Cancer Research Center of Oklahoma.
