JOHN "JACK" HIENZ, JR
KA3OIT
1944 - 2004

Jack Hienz, KA3OIT, passed away during the second week of August at the age of 59. He had been suffering from heart problems while awaiting a transplant, and has been in and out of the hospital many times in the last couple of years. Jack and his wife, Janice, have been members of the ECARA for many years. He was one of our Volunteer Examiners, and loved helping others get their licenses. He truly enjoyed going to Breezeshooters each year for the test session, and had wanted to be one of our net controls before he became too ill to manage it. Jack’s father, John Hienz, Sr (KA3OIS) has also been a member of the club for several years, and is now residing at Passavant Nursing Center in Zelienople.

This very kind, gentle man will be very greatly missed in Amateur Radio and in our club. We are much better for having known him.
