MARY JANE (JANEY) BREWER
N3KTZ
1944  -  2008

Mary Jane Brewer, N3KTZ, passed away on November 20, 2008 at the age of 64, following hospitalization with cancer.  Janey and her husband, Elmer (W3ELB), were members since the early days of the club, and were instrumental in helping us grow.  She was club treasurer for many years.

Janey worked in food service at Dawes Manor in New Brighton for many years, and after it closed went to work at Beaver Meadows in Brighton Twp.  One of her favorite things to do was working in the food booth, especially during the Ellwood City Arts and Crafts Festival.  She worked tirelessly, but enjoyed it so much.  She and Elmer were also members of United Valley REACT, where she was also treasurer for many years.  She was certified in traffic control, and enjoyed doing communications for the many civic events.

Janey was learning to play the organ, and also enjoyed gardening and crafts.  She also spent a lot of time caring for her daughter, Scherry, who had diabetic complications in her legs and feet that need constant care.  Janey was a giver.  She loved people, and loved helping where she could.  It was impossible to get her to take a break and just relax.  Those of us who knew her well loved her, and she leaves a huge void in all of our lives.
