EXPLANATION OF THE
ECARA
MEMBERSHIP STRUCTURE

FULL MEMBERSHIP

Full membership in the ECARA is for licensed Amateurs who plan to be active members in our club.  A full members has all rights and privileges.  These include the right to vote in the election of officers or any proposal brought before the membership, the right to hold office, and the right to use the autopatch on the repeater.  Full members are expected to participate in club activities and events and to attend meetings on a regular basis, except when work or illness make it impossible.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP

The Associate membership includes those who do not hold a valid Amateur Radio operator's license.  It also includes those persons, licensed or not, who do not wish to participate in club activities and events, or can not due to distance or other reasons.  Rather, they support the club with their membership.  Associate members may not vote or hold an office, and must abide by the decisions made by the voting membership.  Our Associate members are a valuable part of our club, and we welcome their participation when it is possible.  

FAMILY MEMBERSHIP

The ECARA welcomes family participation in our club.  To make it easier for families to be a part of the club, we have instituted a Family Membership option.  Any Full member may add additional family members at 20% of the full membership dues.  For instance, during the first quarter of the year a Full Member would pay $20.00 dues for the entire year and would be able to add family members at the cost of $4.00 each for the year.  The additional family members would receive Full or Associate memberships, depending on the rules set forth above for each category.  

JUNIOR

We want to encourage our young people to get involved with Amateur Radio at an early age, and hopefully carry on with it for a lifetime.  We are offering a free membership to anyone under the age of 21 who wishes to become a part of our Amateur Radio family.

SENIOR MEMBERSHIP

To hold this membership, you must be 18 years of age or under, or 65 years of age or older. The rules governing Full and Associate membership will also apply depending on whether the applicant is a licensed operator the desired level of participation.
