Rio Grande Valley APRS

Welcome to our APRS Page. If you don't already know, APRS stands for: Automatic Position Reporting System. You can read all you ever wanted on this exciting mode of operation by clicking here: Learn APRS  Our APRS is broadcast on 144.390 at 1200 baud from about 500 feet in LaFeria Texas. Greg Sergent, KA0ARS supplies the wide area Digipeater, its a GE Master II running 100 Watts and a MFJ TNC with a modified eprom by Dave Waldridge WA5MMY. Put in operation in 1998, this system has never needed service and is still going strong! Hats off to Greg KA0ARS , Dave WA5MMY, Toby N5SIM and John KC5WBG for all the work on this system.

The APRS Igate and E-Mail server run by N5SIM Toby Driscoll, its up at 35ft in San Juan Texas. Connected to the internet via Road Runner and its working quite well.
