My second trip
My second trip with my QRP transceiver (HOWES de 5 W DXR20 - TX2000 and a great deal of new ideas for testing indoor antennas)was to Helsinki for 6 months. There I had my temporal QTH and I was experimenting several indoor antennas.
My conditions were:
- 3th floor in an apartment in the downtown.
- A lot of electric noise in the surroundings(+20db en 40m en several times) most likely produced by refrigerator engines or other electric engines.
- Apartment's Walls are built of a material called PLADUR that, even though it ease the construction and provides a good isolation, uses iron internally and therefore the losses are considerable.
The results during almost all the period were not so success as I expected, only the last two days when I decided to built a new indoor antenna () I was able to make 5 QSOs (SM/UY/RZ/UR). It was a pity as well because several geomagnetic storms were happened during those months and therefore the propagation in some periods was very bad.

Nevertheless, when the things are not running as one expects either due to the propagation problems or whatsoever always it is time to relax going, for instance, for fishing:....
You can see, 14,5 Kg of a really nice salmon fished in front of the Tallinn border(Estonia), it was a consideration of my client for showing us that the salmon is not fished in the supermarkets already in plastic bags but you have to go to the sea and suffer a little bit to get it.
