E20AJ, The Amateur Radio Station.

The  E20AJ amateur radio station is a part of the City of Science were scouts can learn about science trough fun games.

During the regular day activities scouts can participate in 3 workshops at the radio station.

Workshop 1: Build your own radio.
Scouts can construct a simple Tx or Rx circuit, or other 5 easy electronic kits from the 555 IC, by using a soldering iron and several electronic components. A kit will be prepared containing all the components and battery. Guaranteed working at the first try. Those who complete the kits before time will get another different kit as a prize. The Tx and Rx can be assembled on the same circuit. If they complete both Tx and Rx they will have a radio transceiver.
Workshop 2: 21th Century Fox Hunting.
The fox hunting will be on CB band (245 MHz). 12 small transmitters are hidden on the Jamboree campsite. With a portable transceiver, one for each participant, Scouts will have to work as a team while they individually search for each transmitter.
Workshop 3: Amateur Radio Station.
At the  E20AJ Amateur Radio station Scouts get to experience what Amateur Radio is about. Scouts can make contacts in voice, exchange pictures in slow-scan television and handle a message service through packet-radio with links to internet. Scouts can participate directly in the communication and send messages home and to other Amateurs and Scouts all over the world.

Outside of the regular day activities the radio station will be open 24 hours a day to all Scouts.
