HAM RADIO: MY POINT OF VIEW

Amateur radio can be what you want it to be. You can relax with your rig while talking with a good friend or feel excited while establishing contacts with another ham in a rare country. It can also be very mentally stimulating as we all continually learn new horizons in the field of amateur radio and electronics as a whole. And right now, designing my own home page in qsl.net is another challenge to take. So whether you're looking for relaxation or mental stimulation, challenges or excitement, ham radio is for you!

HAM RADIO IS FOR YOU!!! LET'S ALL BE PART OF IT!!!

Ham Radio: My Point of View

My husband, DU1LXV and I bought our first two-way radio out of necessity. Slowly, we were introduced to what it really is. It is not like the telephone where you merely talk to a person at the other end of a line. Ham Radio is not mere communication. It opens to a lot of horizons ---horizons and fields only we, amateurs, truly appreciate and not frown about. I've tried packet radio and slow scan television and the satisfaction of a contact is unexplainable. But for the common people, they will never understand why. I've spent long and sleepless hours in front of my rig during cq contests but for some, the essence of such activities may have to be justified and the importance of a dxpedition be explained. Ham Radio has been our way of life and it will always be…
