HERE ARE SOME OF DX1DBT's ACTIVITIES...
DXing...
The thrill of working DX is perhaps one of the greatest lures in amateur radio. Every amateur , every pioneer in radio, has wanted to contact someone else just a little farther away. Just what you mean DX depends on your experience and the band you operate. When you first start off in HAM radio, a hundred miles may be DX, but later you will become accustomed to working every corner of the globe. Then DX comes to mean not merely some place that is far away, but a place that is rare, where there are not many amateurs. The skills required are pretty much the same, except that when you start to hunt the rarer DX, you have to sharpen up those skills. They are the skills that you must acquire by practice, and by keen observation of what goes on. The business of listening to what is going on before you operate your transmitter is most fundamental. DXing is a very competitive sport. You will find this out the minute you hear some rare bit of DX and begin calling it. You will find out that a thousand other HAMs heard the DX station at the same instant and are also calling. Most of these HAMs are outstanding operators and have the very finest of stations. They have high power, excellent antennas, and a vast amount of experience. Some of them, however, are just like yourself-they are not running kilowatt transmitters and they are not the world's best operators. You can compete on an even basis with this latter group, and you can work up to competing with the top ground, by using your head.

DXpedition...
This activity intensifies the HAMS' eagerness for exploration and adventure. The group usually goes to a rare place that would help them build a better propagation and set up their equipment. There they have their DXing and most of the times CQ Contests, away from their radio station. The club members have exposed themselves into a couple of DXpeditions such as the Calaguas Island DXpedition in Mindoro, Philippines.

Communication Assistance (2m operations)...
It is one of the things that makes the club fun and exciting. It is actually the render of service, communication needs, to those who ask assistance from us such as concerts, intrams, and others. Noteable operations that the club handled was the HALALAN '92- presidential election together with the coverage of ABS-CBN Channel 2, FREEDOM FESTIVAL of the Ayala Group of Companies last celebration of the Centennial Independence of the Philippines. The club also gives service in a series of activities in the celebration of the foundation of Don Bosco Technical College such as concerts, fun run and a lot more. The club also extends it service to other schools, like La Salle, Greenhills and College of the Holy Spirit who have been beneficiary of the communication assistance of the DX1DBT-2M Operation.

Contests...
Contests are a big thing in HAM radio, even though not every amateur may not take part in them. But the enthusiasm of those that do is pretty contagious, and you will want to check into these someday. Most of the contests provide the same basic goal- work as many different stations in as many different places as possible in a given period of time. There are many other contests, some sponsored by the league and some by various other clubs and organizations. In fact, if you become a contest fanatic, it would be possible to take part in some sort of contest nearly every weekend of the year. They are all tests of your operating skill and your station equipment. In all contests, someone has to lose. As in any sport, there are some who are skillful that they can win almost any race they run. Yet this need not detract you from your enjoyment of the contests. Let each one be the test of you, in which you try to improve your previous performance, and your operating system will gradually improve. You will have the chance to work states and countries which are not on the air in such profusion as during contests. You will find ways in which you can improve the operating convenience of your station.

Homebrewing (Antenna construction)...
It is the practical application of the members mostly ECE students. It helps the members apply the theory that they have acquired from the four walls of the classroom. Since our school is a technical school with benchmark industry, the club has been a good breeding ground and will always be as proven by the alumni of the club. It helps us in the basic understanding of wave and space propagation, electronics and communication systems. Most of the antennas like the which the club relies on their good performance were designed and made by the members for a couple of weeks.

Jamboree-On-The-Air/INFEX...
The annual Jamboree on the Air is done with hand in hand cooperation of HAMS around the globe and BOYS and GIRLS SCOUTS of the entire nation. HAMS share their basic knowledge in the power of wireless communication to their guest scouts, thus these scouts get a chance to meet their fellow scouts on the other half of the globe. It is done traditionally as a sign of their devotion to service for country, fellowmen and to God. SCOUTS and HAMs have a common understanding of what a true service really means, and this event serves as an encounter of two groups who are ready to listen to the call of duty for their country and countrymen.
