AMATEUR RADIO .... a beginning

"A hobby for a life time." That's what they say about amateur radio, and I am experiencing that saying about amateur radio. It's how you perceive the aspects of this hobby that you can fully be aware of it's enjoyment and fulfillment of your objectives. I was introduced into amateur radio in the early 70's. After passing the novice class which at that time was Class C, I bought my first vhf transceiver a Standard handheld radio which was channelized at that time. VHF was a starting band and later on as I get to know different hams my interest on the hobby expanded. Having joined different clubs and the different activities provided me with the interest of what I want to do with the hobby. From joining a contest club like the 508 Amateur Radio Group I gained the experiennce of DX'ing and Contesting. After years of upgrading equiptments and license I have set-up a moderate station which I enjoy using and sharing with friends. Amateur radio is a hobby with a lot of modes and bands open for operation and it takes patience and skill to achieve your objectives and goals. With it new friends and knowledge are developed. A wide horizon faces a ham in pursuing his enjoyment of the hobby and every start of a test of an equiptment or a mode starts a beginng.......
