Latest AREA 10 ARES Meeting was March 29th at the Durham County EOC.
Below is the AGENDA of what we talked about. More notes will be added
here soon, on what was covered at the meeting!
AGENDA
1) We will spend about 30 to 45 minutes discussing the following challenges:
a) Obtaining the support of , respect by, and credibility with served agencies.
b) Obtaining reliable, sufficient, and competent participation in ARES by
radio amateurs.
Please come prepared to offer your inputs on the above subjects, both with respect
to difficulties and successes you have encountered.
2) About 30 minutes on an exercise (mind-mapping, for those of you familiar
with it) to explore and discuss what to do about 1b) when you have done all the
right things and participation remains low, or untrained operators "come out of
the woodwork" in an emergency. We will also use the results of this for some
ongoing discussions.
3) 15 to 30 minutes on some possible Area 10 - wide activities you have
suggested, including:
--THEN participation;
--70 cm Area 10 net on the GRA linked system;
--Inter-county mutual aid;
--Communications for hospitals;
--Inter-county digital communications.
