As a young boy, I was always interested in elecronic devices. While others were playing with toys, I spent my time with a soldering iron, wire, tubes, etc.

In 1967 I recieved my first Amateur Radio License. During that time, my radio equipment was all home-brew. My main interest was experimenting at the very high frequencies.

I think, amateur radio is a great hobby. I have a lot of friends around the globe. We can speak, do teletyping and send pictures. There are many possibilities to make contact with other hams around the world using the various radio frequencies. Amateur radio is a great medium for better understanding of other people and countries.

My second passion: Mountaineering

 

What can I say about mountaineering? It makes you fit! Away from people, I find this to be the best way to achive the  privacy I like, and to get in touch with my personal feelings. This helps me cope to with the busy lifestyle we have to live with.

My third passion: Traveling

Traveling is education. It is a good way for better understanding of other people and countries. One  of the lesson I learned, is that we germans should be contented with our lifestyle here!
